AusKayaks can be found at 32 Stingaree Point Drive, Dora Creek.
On the western side of Lake Macquarie south of Toronto, cross over the Dora Creek bridge and take the first turn to the left and follow Stingaree Point drive for 3 kilometres. Dora Creek can be accessed via an off ramp from the F3 Freeway at Morisset. Head North through Morisset and turn right into Stingaree Point Drive before the Dora Creek Bridge. Follow Stingaree Point Drive for 3 kilometres.
By rail, Dora Creek has a minor rail station so you will need to check if trains stop there.
If wanting to hire a kayak on Dora Creek then once you alight from the train just walk across the creek on the footbridge and we will have the kayaks ready on the other side of the creek as arranged when booking.
Dora Creek is on the south western side of Lake Macquarie and winds its way down from it's source in the Watagan Mountains and into Lake Macquarie. By boat it is navigatable past the Sanitarium Health Foods factory at Cooranbong. One must bare in mind that the speed limit on the creek is 4 knots its entire length.
By kayak one can paddle as far as the weir in Cooranbong were the creek is crossed by Freemans Drive.
Lake Macquarie, although stated as being Australia's Largest Salt Water Lake, is in fact not technically a lake as it is joined to the sea by a narrow channel. It is located on the border of the Central Coast and the Hunter Valley regions 100ks north of Sydney and has a water surface area approximatly 4 times that of Sydney Harbour.
